Is the future of technology here? If you look at the smartphone market almost a decade back, Samsung was comfortably ruling and Tecno was not even known to people. A few years back, Samsung was still comfortably leading the market, but Tecno started engraving its roots.

And talking about 2023, Tecno is ready to compete with Samsung even in the flagship segment, taking into account even the most celebrated smartphone series from the brand. So Tecno launched its first-ever foldable smartphone a few days back and this competes with the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

So when looking at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 vs Tecno Phantom V Fold, which one of these smartphones do you think sounds better in terms of its features?

Let us compare the features of both the Oppo and the Samsung devices to get a better idea about the devices:

Tecno Phantom V Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4:

  • So while these are foldable smartphones, you would have absolutely no issues with the design, because you know you are already getting something gorgeous. However, Tecno Phantom V Fold is 6.9mm when unfolded and 14.5mm when folded. It weighs about 200g. If you look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, it is 6.3mm when unfolded and close to 15.8mm when folded. It weighs about 263g.
  • Tecno Phantom V Fold comes with a 7.85-inch display and it has a Foldable LTPO AMOLED support along with a 120Hz display refresh rate. You get a display resolution of 2000 x 2296 pixels and about 88% screen-to-body ratio. On the other side, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 7.6-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz display refresh rate and HDR10+ support. You get about 90.9% screen-to-body ratio and an 1812 x 2176 pixels display resolution.
  • The cover displays of both devices are also quite interesting. The Samsung device comes with a 6.2-inch cover display and a 904p display resolution. It has Dynamic AMOLED 2X support and a 120Hz display refresh rate along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ support. Against this, the Tecno device contains a 6.42-inch LTPO AMOLED display along with a 120Hz display refresh rate. You get a 1080p display resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus support over the cover display.
  • Now one of the most important parts of both devices is the processor. Talking about Tecno Phantom V Fold, you get a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor in the core which is octa-core in structure and clocked at 3.2GHz. On the flipside, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor which is again octa-core in structure but clocked at 3.19GHz. If you talk about the processors, I can say that the Tecno Phantom V Fold with its MediaTek processor is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 with its Snapdragon.
  • Both the Samsung and the Tecno devices arrive with the same variants in terms of RAM and ROM. You get the lowest variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the highest variant comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
  • Talking about the camera support of the devices, the Tecno Phantom V Fold comes with a 50MP + 50MP + 13MP triple rear camera support that comes with dual-LED flash support and it also supports 4K video captures. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphone has a 50MP + 10MP + 12MP triple rear camera support with an LED flash and it also supports 8K video captures.
  • Talking about the selfie cameras of the devices, while Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 4MP under-display selfie camera and a 10MP cover camera, Tecno Phantom V Fold comes with a 16MP selfie camera and a 32MP cover camera.
  • Both these smartphones come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and other interesting sensor supports. However, while Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has USB Type-C 3.2 support with OTG, Tecno Phantom V Fold comes with USB Type-C support with an OTG.
  • If you look at the battery section of both these smartphones, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a 4400mAh battery and 25W fast wired charging support along with 15W wireless charging. You also get 4.5W reverse wireless charging support. Talking about the Tecno device, you get a 5000mAh battery along with 45W fast charging support.

So even when Samsung has a lot more reputation than Tecno across the globe, it’s good to see that Tecno has tried really well with the Tecno Phantom V Fold device, and you get it at a lesser cost. So which one of these smartphones do you think is a better option between Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Tecno Phantom V Fold?
