TCL Ion X: Will You Go for it in Budget?

Tight on budget? TCL has something interesting if you wish to get a new smartphone. Recently, TCL launched quite a few new smartphones and one of them was this TCL Ion X which arrives in the budget segment and comes with some very interesting features.

And there’s something that TCL has revived with this smartphone. It’s the removal battery from the device, which, I think, has been occurring for a bit of time.

• TCL Ion X is a sleek and slim device that has a size of just 8.9mm and weighs about 177.4g. It contains Nano-SIM support and occurs in a single, Black color.
• The smartphone contains a 6.0-inch IPS LCD display with about a 78.9% screen-to-body ratio. It also contains a 720p display resolution and an 18:9 display resolution. The display looks good enough for a budget segment device.
• The device has been launched in just a single variant of RAM and ROM, and you get 3GB RAM support along with 32GB internal storage. And when you look at this, you will get an idea that this smartphone is actually meant for basic users. You cannot make heavy usage and you cannot store a lot in it.
• If you are about to judge the performance of the device, I think you should know that it comes with a MediaTek Helio G25 gaming processor. Of course, this is not meant for gaming, but it can deliver good performance for regular usage. This is an octa-core chip with a primary CPU clock speed of 2GHz and comes with a PowerVR GE8320 as its GPU. You also get TCL UI support along with Android 12.
• Talking about the camera section of the device, the smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera along with an LED flash and this can also capture 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Besides, the smartphone also contains 5MP front camera and even this would do well for your selfies and video calls.
• The smartphone contains a 3000 removable battery and this is something that has been brought by any brand in a while. It also contains 10W fast charging support which also looks cool.
• In terms of sensors, the smartphone contains a virtual proximity sensor and accelerometer. However, it lacks the much-needed fingerprint sensor.

TCL Ion X: Price and Availability

TCL Ion X has already been launched in the US market and you can get it from the online Metro website. The cost of this device would be $119 for the single variant and I think this is reasonable for the kind of features it offers.

However, TCL should also keep the competition in mind while buying these smartphones because most Chinese brands deliver a lot of features at a low cost. TCL has been launching smartphones continuously but as of now, while the world is moving more towards 5G devices, the brands need to deliver what people actually demand.

TCL is still at a stage where it tried to capture the attention of people through its devices. I think smartphones should talk for themselves at this stage.
