Samsung has been constantly aiming at the budget segment with some really good smartphones and the hot budget segment is actually key to impressing a lot of buyers it seems because things seem to be going in the favor of Chinese brands who are using the same strategies.

Now talking about the new Samsung Galaxy A13 smartphone, this is the 5G smartphone launched by the brand a while ago since this 5G smartphone occurs in the budget segment, it is actually impressing the users. But when you look at the Samsung Galaxy A12 4G smartphone that was launched some time back, do you think that the Samsung Galaxy A13 smartphone is the perfect upgrade? Let us find this out when you compare both these smartphones:

Display Features:

Not much has changed, as far as the display of both these smartphones is concerned except for one great change that was needed. The new Samsung Galaxy A13 smartphone comes with a 90Hz display refresh rate while Samsung Galaxy A12 had only a 60Hz display refresh rate. Besides, Samsung Galaxy A12 also has a TFT PLS display while Samsung Galaxy A12 has an IPS PLS display.

Processor:

Something that matters are lot is the processor of the smartphone and as I already told you, while Samsung Galaxy A12 was a 4G smartphone, Samsung Galaxy A13 is a 5G smartphone. And while Samsung Galaxy A12 was launched with a Mediatek Helio G35 octa-core processor that is clocked at 2.3GHz, Samsung Galaxy A13 is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 700 processor that is octa-core in structure and clocked at 2.2GHz.

Both these processors are budget options in their respective generations but there is a difference of 5nm in the size of both these MediaTek chipsets.

RAM and ROM:

Something that has seen a complete turnaround is the RAM and ROM section in the devices and Samsung might have got a lesson or 2 in the aspect. In 2020, Samsung Galaxy A12 was launched in so many RAM and ROM variants across the world. It had as low as 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage as well, while the highest RAM variant was 6GB, and as much as 128GB ROM was present in it. And would you believe that between these, there are as many as 6 different variants?

But Samsung has turned sensible as of now. The new Samsung Galaxy A13 comes in only a single variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage keeping in mind the budget buyers. No more targeting all kinds of buyers with a single device.

Camera features:

There has been a slight change in the camera section as well and I wonder how you would react to this. While Samsung Galaxy A12 has a 48MP + 5MP + 2MP + 2MP quad rear camera section with an LED flash, there is a 50MP + 2MP + 2MP triple rear camera in the new Samsung Galaxy A13 5G device and I think this is slightly better than the last one.

However, Samsung Galaxy A13 has got a reduced, 5MP camera in the device and this was 8MP in the Samsung Galaxy A12 4G device. So this might not appear as the best change.

Besides, the other features of both these smartphones are quite similar, and both of them contain the same 5000mAH battery with 15W fast charging support. And there are a few changes in the color and the design of the smartphones but they hardly matter.

So Samsung Galaxy A12 and Samsung Galaxy A13 are pretty good devices and I think the upgraded Samsung Galaxy A13 with some interesting 5G features and processor looks really good. What do you think about these devices?
