I have been reading a lot about in-home exercising equipment and just had a chance to use this Peloton Bike, which is more of cycling equipment, but technology influencing the most of it. Tell you what, while you might have been hearing and reading a lot about how costly this product is, the price has seen a considerable drop in the recent past.

So the Peloton Bike which cost $2245 for the basic membership, would not cost you just $1895 and this is a drop of 350 bucks which counts a lot. Also, you can go for paying as low as $45 a month of a bit over 3 years. So now, I don’t think this exercising equipment should be considered that costly.

Talking about the experience with the bike, I think even the old cost was nothing that bad. But before that, let me give you a glimpse of what this bike is about:

Peloton Bike: Look and Feel

Peloton Bike is 4 feet long and 2 feet wide and is compact enough that you could squeeze it in your living room or maybe even your bedroom. For someone who has short arms and legs like me, finding the sweetest spot might take a few more seconds, but it just requires a little bit of patience. It has a 21.5-inch touchscreen display with a display resolution of 1080p and responsive touch that feels really crisp.

The display is supported with a couple of 10-watt speakers that may get very loud if you crank up the volume. Besides, if you do wish to stay away from any outside noise, the display does have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Peloton bike also has Bluetooth support using which, you can pair a heart rate monitor to the Bike. Besides the Peloton-branded monitor, it’s also quite compatible with platforms such as Strava, Fitbit, Apple’s Health app, and even the Apple Watch, No doubt, you can easily sync your metrics.

The smart bike is powered by a 2.0 GHz MediaTek MT8173 quad-core processor and contains 2 GB RAM with 16 GB internal flash storage. There is also a Peloton Cycle data connector and all these contribute to the immersive, in-studio experience of a live class.

Peloton Bike: The Packages

Peloton Bike basic package started at $2,245 (or $58 per month) but now it has come down to $1895 and it includes only the Peloton Bike. The Essentials Package that cost $2,404 ($62 per month) in the past, has come down to $2045 and it comes with the bike, a pair of shoes, and a pair of headphones, made by Urbanears. There is a Works package that came down from $2,494 ($64 per month) to $2145 per month, you’ll get all the aforementioned goodies with the addition of a heart rate monitor and a bike mat.

The most expensive option was the Family Package which earlier took $2,694 ($70 per month) but has come down to $2345 and you get the bike, a set of weights, two pairs of shoes, two pairs of headphones, a bike mat, and two water bottles. It’s a good option if you’re going to be sharing the bike but don’t want to share the accessories.

Peloton Bike: Experience

About my experience with the bike, I think the Peloton bike is really worth a shot if you like exercising at home. You can choose from a wide range of Live weekly classes, on-demand library, and get help from the instructors whenever you want. Well, an ordinary bike would not have offered you this personalized experience and this is why I really liked what it offers at the cost.
