Nokia C100 and C200: The Return of MediaTek Helio A22
The CES 2022 which took place in January 2022 saw some amazing gadgets from across the world and while there were some interesting laptops, some smartphones too impressed the users quite a bit.
Nokia made a comeback to the smartphone market and launched some really good and affordable smartphones. There were 6 of them launched by Nokia and out of these, the starting 2 variants were powered by Mediatek Helio A22 Processor.
Yes, you read that right. Nokia C100 and Nokia C200 are budget smartphones that are powered by MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core processor that is clocked at 2GHz.
At this age, when people are looking for nothing less than octa-core processors, Nokia has made good use of its reputation across the world and has launched these new budget Nokia phones that start at just $99.
If you remember, back in 2018 and 2019, the Mediatek Helio A22 processor was high in use. And even in 2019, the brands used this processor quite less since all of them were keen to use the Mediatek Helio P22 octa-core processor. An octa-core processor has its own advantages and hence, most people these days prefer using such processors.
However, since Nokia has brought these budget smartphones with a quad-core chipset, it would be interesting enough to see how these smartphones work for the brand in the current scenario.
Let me tell you about the specs of these smartphones. So Nokia C100 and Nokia C200 have the same Mediatek chipset as aforementioned, and both of them have 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, Android 12 OS, a 4,000mAh battery, and a single rear-facing camera. The only difference between both these smartphones is that the Nokia C200 device has a bigger 6.1-inch display. Talking about the prices of the smartphones Nokia C100 and C200 phones are priced at $99 and $119, respectively.
So when you look at the prices of these smartphones, you can say that both these smartphones would work well enough in the budget segment since there are a lot of users who make only regular uses of their smartphones. For instance, they might need a smartphone just to watch movies or operate social media.
Also, there are some users who use smartphones only for calling and texting, and sometimes, they also make use of the camera. Such people may not play games over Temple Run or Candy Crush and these devices are actually so good for them. I would say Nokia made a good choice of chipsets as well as features in these smartphones.
