By now, I am pretty sure that you would have heard about the new MediaTek smartphone chipsets that just hit the market. No, you do not need to be a technology nerd or a smartphone geek to keep the score. In fact, the way technology has been progressing, I think people know about it pretty well in advance.

So MediaTek launched a couple of new flagship chipsets for smartphones, a couple of weeks ago, and these have suddenly caught the attention of smartphone users, technology experts, and smartphone manufacturers etc. These 6nm chipsets are a competition to some of the biggest players in the chipset market and have received a lot of love from people across the world.

Among them is the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset which is the eldest member of the family now and is the most powerful chipset launched by MediaTek up till now. So here is a small introduction to the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset in the form of the specifications it contains. Also, as you read along, you would know the major USPs of the chipset that have enticed the people quite a bit.

Specifications of MediaTek Dimensity 1200:

CPU Type: It contains 1 x ARM Cortex-A78 that is clocked up to 3GHz, 3 x ARM Cortex-A78 which are clocked up to 2.6GHx, and 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a clock speed of up to 2GHz.

Size of the Chipset: 6nm

Number of Cores: It is Octa (8) core in structure

CPU Bit: 64-bit

Memory Type: It contains the LPDDR4x memory type.

Max Memory Frequency: It has a max memory frequency of 4266MHz

Max Memory Size: It can support a max memory of up to 16GB

Storage Type: UFS 3.1

Cellular Technologies: It can support cellulare rechnologies such as 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G Multi-Mode, 4G Carrier Aggregation (CA), 5G Carrier Aggregation (CA), CDMA2000 1x/EVDO Rev. A (SRLTE), EDGE, 4G FDD / TDD, 5G FDD / TDD, GSM, TD-SCDMA, and WDCDMA.

Max Download Speed: It can reach up to 4.7Gbps with its download speed.

Max Upload Speed: It is capable of supporting up to 2.5Gbps upload speed.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: It can support Wi-Fi 6 (a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth Version 5.2

Max Display Resolution: It can support a max display resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels

Max Refresh Rate: It supports a display refresh rate of a whopping 168Hz.

GPU Type: It contains an Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.

Max Camera Support: It can support a powerful single camera of up to 200MP and dual camera sensors up to 32MP + 16MP.

Max Video Capture Resolution: 3840 x 2160

These are some of the major specifications of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset and besides these, I think you should know some other features as well which have really captured the attention of the buyers.

MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0: In the 5th generation chipsets, MediaTek has added the third generation of MediaTek HyperEngine gaming enhancement support and this is something exciting. MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0 enhances the smartphone gaming experience with finely-tuned connectivity features, the new-generation wireless audio and Ray Traced graphics capabilities, and enhancements to offer efficiency with much better battery saving capabilities.

168Hz Display Refresh Rate: As aforementioned, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset offers an extreme display with 168Hz refresh rates, thus offering ultra-sharp, zero-lag visuals for even the most demanding games. Besides gaming, this feature is also useful to the everyday experience because it offers smoother scrolling of webpages, social streams, and animations in apps.

Bluetooth LE Audio Ready: The chipset contains Bluetooth 5.2 with LE Isochronous Channels, and new LC3 encoding, that enables Bluetooth LE Audio ready technology with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio. With this, you could get much better audio support while saving the battery draining as well.

And as you already saw, the CPU section and the camera section of the smartphone chipset are already so good. This makes MediaTek Dimensity 1200 a really powerful performer in the 5G segment. Those favoring Snapdragons and Kirins and Exynos etc., watch out. MediaTek is up with a huge advancement and this 6nm chipset would surely establish its supremacy in the market.
