The fabless semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek seems to be on fire these days and nearly every smart gadget seems to have a chipset produced by the brand. Well, these are good to offer you great performance and also are low in cost. However, the smartphone segment is altogether a different world, and brands such as MediaTek and Qualcomm seem to be offering a tough fight to each other in the market.

After the success of Qualcomm in the 5G department, even MediaTek is ready to roll across the globe with some of its really amazing 5G chipsets. Launched initially in China only, the MediaTek powered 5G smartphones are now being sold in various American and European nations and are meeting the approval of people as well. No wonder, you could now trust MediaTek for what they deliver, because there are chances that you might be using a MediaTek-powered gadget in your home.

In the 5G segment, there is a smartphone chipset known as MediaTek Dimensity 1000C. As you can expect, this is one of the 5G chipsets from the Dimensity series, but people generally get the wrong impression by its name. It surely says “Dimensity 1000”, but the specifications of the chipset would spin a different yarn.

So before I deliver any more theoretical concepts, let us dive in to find out a bit about the specifications of the chipset:

MediaTek Dimensity 1000C has the following specifications:

CPU Type: Arm Cortex-A77 clocked at 2GHz and Arm Cortex-A55 clocked at a max of 2GHz

Cores: Octa (8)

CPU Bit: 64-bit

Memory Type: LPDDR4x

Max Memory Frequency: 1866MHz

Max Memory Size: 12GB

Cellular Technologies: 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G Multi-Mode, 4G Carrier Aggregation (CA), 5G Carrier Aggregation (CA), CDMA2000 1x/EVDO Rev. A (SRLTE), EDGE, 4G FDD / TDD, 5G FDD / TDD, GSM, TD-SCDMA, WDCDMA

Peak Download Speed: 2.3 Gbps

Peak Upload Speed: 1.2 Gbps

Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac)

Bluetooth Version: 5.1

Max Camera ISP: 32+16MP, 64MP

Max Video Capture Resolution: 3840 x 2160

GPU Type: Arm Mali-G57 MC5

Max Display Resolution: 2520 x 1080

So if you could get it by the specifications, MediaTek Dimensity 1000C is perhaps not as good as the other Dimensity 1000 series chipsets and is comparatively low in power. However, comparatively low in power does not mean low power or mediocre power. In fact, it is quite good in performance and has features such as:

5G-Integrated SoC:

The Dimensity 1000C is a 5G-integrated SoC that enables higher average speeds and a seamless handover between two 5G connection areas across a coverage layer. Having a 5G-integrated SoC would have its own benefits and you would know this when you get faster internet speeds and better downloads.

Certified AV1 HDR Smartphone for Netflix:

This was the new feature brought specifically by MediaTek in 2020. The MediaTek Dimensity 1000C supports AV1 video hardware decoding with Netflix and YouTube video streams, and enables the latest generation of streaming media with new levels of visual detail, better sound, and higher resolutions, at the best playback power-efficiency to extend the battery life as well.

Dual Display Capability:

You would have heard about the latest dual-screen smartphones that are quite a sensation in the market these days.

Well, MediaTek Dimensity 1000C is capable of offering dual independent displays in the latest smartphone designs to offer flip or fold smartphones. Besides, they also support ultra-fast 120Hz single display up to FHD+ resolution for smoother, more responsive experiences in gaming, internet browsing, and animations in apps.

No doubt, MediaTek Dimensity 1000C is perhaps one of the most amazing 5G chipsets and you would be amazed to know that it would still power budget to mid-range smartphones. So if you are a gamer or a normal smartphone user, a smartphone with this MediaTek chipset would surely offer you the best assistance without drilling a huge hole in your pocket.
