Did you read about the Motorola smartphone with Satellite connectivity in my last post? Well, here is something equally good from a different brand.

Taking the power of satellite connectivity forward, Cat S75 is the new rugged smartphone with some really interesting features and this smartphone has already been launched in the mid-range segment. This was actually the first smartphone by Bullitt Group to contain a 2-way satellite messaging feature.

Let’s dive a bit deeper to get a better idea of the specifications and features of the Cat S75 smartphone:

  • Cat S75 is a rugged device and this means it would not readily give up on the shocks it experiences. The smartphone measures about 11.9mm in size and weighs 268g. It has an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus in front for protection. Besides, it is resistant to dust and waterproof for about 35 minutes in about 5 meters of water. It is also resistant to drops on concrete from a height of up to 1.8m.
  • The smartphone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display along with a 120Hz display refresh rate. Besides, it contains a 76.7% screen-to-body ratio, 1080p display resolution, and 20:9 display aspect ratio. No doubt, it could be a smart thing for gaming as well.
  • Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 930 processor which is octa-core in structure and is clocked at 2.2GHz. This processor is just 6nm in size and can foster good gaming as well. Also, you get Stock Android 12 support along with IMG BXM-8–256 GPU support and these specs make it a good option to get smart performance.
  • The smartphone exists in a single variant with 6GB RAM support and 128GB internal storage. You can expand both RAM and ROM using the virtual RAM and external storage respectively.
  • If you look at the camera section of the device, you would find that it comes with a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera support along with dual-LED flash. And while it can click low-light images pretty well, you can also use this smartphone for underwater photos because it is resistant to water for at least some time. It also contains an 8MP front camera for your selfies and video calls as well.
  • The smartphone contains a 5000mAh battery which is pretty good for buyers in the mid-range section as well. And it comes with 15W fast charging support, which I think could have been slightly better for the users.
  • It contains a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and as aforementioned, it has this emergency SoS support via satellite among other sensors. You get USB Type-C 2.0 support and USB on-the-go support as well with the device.

So you might have noted that most of the features of the Cat S75 and the Motorola Defy 2 smartphones are almost the same, and it could depend on the kind of region you live in when you look to buy these smartphones.

The smartphone has already been launched in some parts of the European market for £549.00 and if you are looking for it in the US market, this might cost you something around 600 bucks. Do you think this would be a good deal for a rugged smartphone with a Dimensity 930 chip and satellite connectivity feature?
